Hi there!

I'm Sue, owner and photographer of CDA Birth Photographer, LLC. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. After years of traveling the northern hemisphere for my husbands baseball career, I am blessed to finally call this wonderful corner of the country "home." It's a true joy to settle down in the most beautiful part of this country and able to invest in the work that I'm so very passionate about. I enjoy being outdoors especially on our peaceful 10 acres of forest, drinking kombucha, playing at the lake with my kids, rooting for the Cougs and Seahawks and soaking up sunshine in the Northwest.

Before becoming a professional birth photographer, I worked in nonprofit focused on advocacy for domestic violence and sexual violence survivors, and empowering and educating teenagers who had experienced trauma. It was during this time I learned that my passion rests in empowering women and girls, and the profound impacts that support during maternity and birth have on a mother, infant and family. I’m drawn to and love documenting women and their families through pregnancy, birth and the early years of motherhood. I enjoy capturing the authentic, intimate and truly powerful space that bellies, babies and families grow in.

I feel honored to have been welcomed into so many birth and postpartum spaces in hospitals, homes and birth centers alike in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Liberty Lake, Spokane and the surrounding areas over the last 5 years. Capturing these moments sets my heart on fire, and I couldn’t do this work I love with out you!
